Pittsboro Presbyterian Church believes in the importance of caring for God’s creation. The Creation Justice Team (formerly Eco-Justice) facilitates this commitment by connecting, equipping, and inspiring Presbyterians to make creation care and justice a central concern of the church. We believe that the Christian Church along with all world religions has a sacred moral imperative to lead in the quest to move humanity from an unjust and unsustainable life style that dishonors creation and the Creator to one that preserves and protects the gift of abundant life with which humanity has been graced by God.
PPC is a supporting member of Presbyterians for Earth Care (PEC), a national eco-justice network that cares for God’s creation by connecting, equipping, and inspiring Presbyterians to make creation care a central concern of the church. We are also a certified Earth Care Congregation of PC(USA). These are congregations that have committed to the “Earth Care Pledge” and accomplished a specific number of actions toward caring for God’s earth in four categories: worship, education, facilities, and outreach.
Creation Justice Blog
Our creation justice blog is one vehicle to help us all faithfully address the ethical mandate to bend the arc of the moral universe toward justice – justice for all creation, for all creatures great and small. It is intended to be a conduit of information and inspiration to educate and motivate the members of this congregation and our neighbors wherever they may be to wise up and rise up to confront the greatest moral challenge ever to face the human race.
