Pastor Sabbatical 2025
Pittsboro Presbyterian with the help of Salem Presbytery and the PC(USA) Board of Pensions, helped Rev. Evan enjoy a sabbatical from June-August 2025.
Highlights from the sabbatical:
- Reconnected with childhood friends he never gets to see
- Reconnected with pastor friend of 14 years he never gets to see
- Reconnected with Evan’s friend from when he and Emily used to live in CT. Evan got to take his kids to Vermon to see their friend.
- Rest with down time, reading, fun with others and getting to go scuba diving with family (his kids got certified to dive, too!)
- Reflect / Retool exploring his holistic life and spiritual journey with Cynthia Bourgeault’s books, conferences and online courses
- Times of Rest and solitude, sometimes at home in Pittsboro, or at beach with plenty of time to read, reflect, journal, and go on walks.
